Itinerary for Peru Pilgrimage
Overview
Our March pilgrimage dives deep into the spirituality of the Sacred Valley in Peru. We will spend our days and nights here in ceremony, meditation, and in community with one another and the beautiful people and spirits who live here. In Incan spirituality Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (Mountain Spirits) are the feminine and masculine divinities that aid us in our physical and spiritual journeys on earth. Here you will feel their magnificent, supportive presence guiding you through you own pilgrimage to the center of your heart.
The Pilgrimage is a fully guided tour led by TIKA TREKKING out of Cusco, Quechua Healers, and Pilgrim Lark, Keely Morgan. There will be daily guided meditations and ceremonies taking us further and further into the heart of this country and of our souls. People make pilgrimage for many reasons - because of curiosity, the desire to heal, on behalf of someone else, to seek answers, or because they are simply called. I certainly hope you will consider joining this incredible experience as I lead my third group to the land I consider to be my spiritual Home.

Daily Itinerary
Day 1 - International Travel Day to Lima
You will leave behind the cold and fly south to Peru's summer season. This flight usually takes place over night bringing you into Lima early the next morning.
Hotel: LIma
Day 2 - Lima - Cusco - Sacred Valley
We will be waiting for you at the Cusco airport to greet you in this beautiful land. After gathering your things we will then drive into the Sacred Valley. Cusco itself is at around 11k feet so going down to 6k first thing helps ward off altitude sickness and gets us acclimated to the area. We will be spending time in Cusco later on in the trip once our bodies have adjusted.
On the way to the Sacred Valley, we will stop at the ancient Incan temple of Urco. Here we will have our first ceremony with Pachamama (Mother Earth) to request permission for the pilgrimage we are about to embark upon. Here we will also have a picnic lunch. Afterwards we continue to the hotel located in the sacred valley, which will be our home for the majority of our time in Peru. There will plenty of time this afternoon to rest and settle in.
Hotel: Sacred Valley
Day 3 - Moray
After breakfast we will drive to the colorful market of Chinchero. This market offers a wonderful opportunity to buy woven goods, wall hangings, rugs, pottery, and many other types of handicrafts, as well as wonderful photographic opportunities. We’ll visit an artisan’s workshop where expert weavers demonstrate the process of dyeing alpaca, llama, sheave, and wool textiles using natural and organic vegetables and minerals in the way the Quechuas (Incas) did hundreds of year ago.
Afterwards we will continue to the ancient temple of Moray, an Incan site with circular terraces which used to create exceptional conditions or micro climates that fostered domestication, acclimatization and hybridization of a wide array of wild vegetable species that were modified or adapted for human consumption. As with all Incan structures there was a spiritual side as well, and this site is known to be the uterus of Pachamama. Here we will take part in a Despacho. This ceremony aligns our intentions and offerings with the sacred spirits and earth.
After the ceremony we will return to the sacred valley for rest and reflection at the hotel.
Hotel: Sacred Valley
Day 4 - Meditation Trek or Free Day
Today you have the day off to rest and enjoy the beautiful grounds of the hotel. OR, if you feel more active you can choose to do a trek on the Incan Trail.
Hotel: Sacred Valley
Day 5 - Pisac Temple
In the morning we will drive to the ancient Incan town of Pisac where we will visit the ruins of Pisac to take part in ceremony and meditation. The hike to the temples provides some of the most spectacular views of the terraced mountains, burial caves, and sacred valley. It is here where our healers will give us a ceremony of Apu Karpay to bring us the energy of the Apus ( sacred mountains).
Afterwards we will continue to the colorful Indian market of Pisac, which is a remaining part of the system of commercialization practiced by the ancient cultures in Peru. Here we will have a fantastic lunch and spend some time perusing the markets before heading back in the afternoon.
Hotel: Sacred Valley
Day 6 - Ollantaytambo to Auguas Calientes
Today is another remarkable day; we will travel to the ancient Incan town of Ollantaytambo for sacred work with the Temple of the Winds, elemental cleansing and harmonizing ceremony within this amazing site. From this town we will board the train to Auguas Calientes, the town just below Machupicchu. You will have the afternoon and evening to explore this fascinating city built on top of hot springs with a rushing river that flows beneath it. Today the elements of water and wind will be very present in our preparations for Machupicchu the following day.
Hotel: Auguas Calientes
Day 7 - Machupicchu
We will catch the bus early in the morning that goes up the ruins of Machupicchu. Our encounter with Machupicchu will begin with a hike up to the Sun Gate to view the city as those early pilgrims did on their arrival into the city. We will then head down to one of the terraces above the city for a meditation and connection to the energy of this crystal city. Afterwards Rony will guide us through the most important temples and altars of Machupicchu. Regulations have become more strict to provide protection of this sacred site, so our time is limited to the morning hours. At noon we will head back down to Auguas Calientes and take the train back to the sacred valley.
Hotel: Sacred Valley
Day 8 - The Moon Temple
In the morning we will go to the archaeological place Killarumiyoq (Stone possessed by the Moon). Here we will have our final group ceremony in the Sacred Valley. This ceremony will consist of giving gratitude for our journey as a group and through a Karpay Ayni with our healers we will begin the final part of our pilgrimage which focuses most specifically on our own individual healing. Ayni in Quechua means to give or reciprocity and with this offering of our energies we will align ourselves with the hearts of our healers in the specific energy setting of the moon temple. This is the energy of fertility or new beginnings.
After this beautiful time together we will have lunch and then drive to Cusco.
Hotel: Cusco
Day 9 - Cusco City Tour
Today we will visit some of the amazing archeological sites in and around the city, including the Cusco Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas as well as the ruins of Sacsayhuaman.
In the afternoon we will gather at the hotel for individual healings. This is a time for deep reflection as we hold space for each persons experience. At the end of the healings, each person will get to hear what the healers found and ask questions to clarify how they might best continue the healing in their lives after this experience.
In the evening you will have the opportunity to take in one of Cusco’s many wonderful restaurants and night life around the main square.
Hotel: Cusco
Day 10 - Cusco
Spend the day at your leisure. This is a good time to explore some of Cusco’s less visited attractions including the San Pedro Market, the bohemian neighborhood of San Blas, or one of the many museums, such as the Museum of Pre-Colombian Art, Casa Concha (that is, the “Machu Picchu Museum”), or the Choco Museum, where you can make your own chocolate from scratch.
Optional : In the Afternoon hours you can participate of a session of coca leaves reading.
The Coca Leaves Oracle is a good way to ask questions and be prepared for future events so that you can make informed decisions. Each person can ask three questions. Our healers will throw leaves for each question and give their answer based on how the leaves landed. This is a fun and also very deep way to take your experiences from this pilgrimage into the future as you prepare to return home.
We will meet in the afternoon for a closing meditation to prepare ourselves for returning home. Afterwards we will all go out for dinner to celebrate our final evening.
Hotel: Cusco
Day 11 - Travel Day - Lima
We will fly to Lima in the morning and have the majority of the day to spend in Lima. It is summer here so it's the perfect time to relax on the beach or in a local park before heading to the airport for a late night flight back home.
